2011 Trek HiFi Plus (Gary Fisher Collection)

Fisher's HiFi Plus has the big wheels to keep you flowing over even the nastiest trails. It's also rolls with G2 Geometry, which takes Fisher's proven Genesis geometry that improves the slow-speed handling for a corner carving, no-compromise ride. It boasts a rugged 6011-aluminum frame with a custom, G2-dialed RockShox fork and RP2 shock for 100mm of balanced, active travel. For superior shifting, this 29er sports a Shimano/SRAM drivetrain while braking is handled by Avid's Juicy 3 discs along with an Active Braking Pivot. Plus, this beauty also sports a collection of choice Bontrager components.

    Comments:

Ride this on fairly steep Rocky/Technical trail in [...] County. I am 6'4" and 210lbs. So I was thrilled to find a big bike (XL 29") that is still nimble, fast, and light weight. This thing climbs very well, has plush suspension, can handle downhill over rocky stuff without jarring you off the bike. The standard seat is weak and the rear tire lacks tred and girth for the trails I ride. Overall this bike is a HUGE upgrade over my old 26r. Component levels are pretty good for the money too. Very good bike and a very good value.

      Comments:

As an avid XC racer, ex motocross racer, and ex dirt jumper- I demand A LOT from my bike! My Superfly 100 AL is incredible. For the pricepoint- it can't be beat, I tried! Obviously you could spend more money and get carbon frame or nicer compenents, but you don't have too- this bike is pretty amazing. Lightning fast XC bike, with more than enough capability to ride anything short of a World Cup DH course. I've dropped the seat and rode Dual Slalom courses with ease. I've hit the dirt park. I've won XC races. Buy this bike, you will be glad you did!

          Comments:

I rode a 26" Gary Fisher for casual rides for a long time and enjoyed it. But when I started getting into some longer XC rides with high climbs and fast downhills, I didn't have a chance with my 26". As soon as I rode my 29er Trek on some of my regular climbs and downhills, I immeidiately felt the difference. I went from riding 55% and walking 45% to riding 90% and walking only 10%. This will change once I catch up to my 29er's ability. Love this bike.

          Comments:

I ride trails in [...], not big mountains but plenty of switchbacks, climbs and downhills. This bike handles tight turns like a dream. The rapid fire SRAM shifters are perfect. I just rode a track where I'd be worn out and my back would hurt on my old chrome-moly 26" bike. I RAGED on my new bike and would have rode the trail again if it hadn't started raining. This bike feels AWESOME. It's a 19". I'm 6' 195lbs and I ride 2-3 times a week. I'm much faster on this bike and have a lot more fun. I can't believe how I blast up hills that used to have me sucking wind and fly on some pretty crazy downhill sections. I just wanna ride! I highly recommend this bike. Great geometry. Excellent bike.

I switched from a 26 hard tail to a 29er FS bike and the difference is unbelievable! I immediately got made it up climbs that I thought I could never with my old bike! First ride too, it is like a dream compared to a HT!

I use this bike to ride the local bike path during the week with my girlfriend, then bomb down the trails with my friends on the weekend. Overall it is an excellent dual purpose bike and I couldn't be happier. The first time I rode it on my usual trail I could not believe how much faster I was going!! I enjoy riding all-mountain and love the fact that I'm faster uphill than all my buddies and can even keep up with my friend and his EX-8 downhill now!

I looked at this bike and some others. When Trek had a demo I fell in love with the bike. It handled like a champ and I felt extremely in control on the trail. I tried other bikes, but none felt as a fit than the Hifi. The upgrade would be to go to the Super Fly 100 the carbon version.

I TRIED OTHER 29ER'S AND I CAME AWAY REALLY COMFORTABLE WITH THE HIFI. A GREAT RIDING BIKE AND IT WAS MUCH EASIER TO RIDE THE TRAILS WITH ON THIS BIKE.I HIT SOME VERY DIFFICULT TRAILS THAT I COULDNT DUE BEFORE DUE TO MY OTHER BIKE'S LIMITAIONS. ALL I COULD SAY DURING MY RIDE ON THE HIFI WAS "WOW".I TOTALLY TAKEN AWAY ON HOW THIS BIKE RIDES. THE ONLY UPGRAGE I WOULD MAKE WOULD BE THE BRAKING SYSTEM.IT'S GOOD BUT I WOULD LIKE A STRONGER BRAKING SYSTEM.BUT BANG FOR BUCK, THIS IS THE WAY TO GO.
