INDOOR CYCLING - SUFFERFEST (WATERTOWN)
Introducing 'Sufferfest' indoor cycling. A program for all abilities that includes video footage/rocking music that helps guide the workout along with an instructor. Ride the roads of Europe while getting an awesome workout!
Watertown yoga classes are on a punch card system. Punch cards can be purchased in-store only during normal store hours. Punch cards cost $80 for 10 punches/classes. You choose which classes you go to.
MONDAY 5:15PM: Sunshine Stephens/Vinyasa Flow-- All levels welcome, focusing on strength-based sequences to cultivate concentration, confidence and range of motion. Modifications and challenging options offered throughout the practice.
TUESDAY 5:30PM Sue's Vinyasa Yoga --A vinyasa style yoga class stressing fundamentals of yoga. All levels welcome and especially great for beginners!
WEDNESDAY 8:00AM Sunshine Stephens/Morning Flow --A great way to start the day! We'll gently move to bring energy into the body and mind, creating length, flexibility, and warmth to set the tone for a positive day. Modifications and challenging options offered throughout the practice. All levels welcome.

Classes and Descriptions
Indoor Cycling / spin
Indoor cycling is a great workout for all levels of abilities. You can work as hard or as easy as you like. We will guide you through the workout, teach you movements and help you improve your fitness and reach your goals. While the below video is intense with a lot of marketing hype, our instructors will help improve everyone's fitness whether you are a beginner or advanced athlete.
Yoga Sport and Spin
This class will work with your body's natural rhythm to maximize energy utilization, function more efficiently, and facilitate tension release creating a relaxed but exhilarating ride. Using the technique of Cross-Discipline we will ride for a short 30-35 min session followed by Yoga postures focusing on the core and ending with a relaxing stretch. All levels welcome.
Indoor Cycling - Sufferfest
These classes combine awesome video and rocking music. This is a great workout for all ability levels. You can work as hard or as easy as you wish. Instructor led workouts will help you improve your fitness and reach your goals. This class format involves using your own bicycle and an indoor rear wheel trainer (provided). Ride the roads of Europe while getting an awesome workout!
We have a variety of instructors from different backgrounds. Most are serious endurance athletes that have a lot of 'field' experience. Additionally, all instructors are certified through various course work and/or higher education. Instructors will provide coaching and other recommendations for more effective workouts.
Kara is in her fifth season as instructor. She is an avid runner, rides a heavy mountain bike to work :) and knows almost everyone in town. She's also tough as nails and fun as heck. Her class is fast paced and exciting.
Ivy is in her fourth year of teaching indoor cycling and yoga at 2 Rivers.She is also a Certified Holistic Health Coach, Yoga Teacher, Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Instructor and has studied many different Health/Fitness modalities. Although, Ivy is passionate about many different forms of exercise her focus is always on the mind/body connection, a strong core and eating to fuel the body for energy!
Val has participated in 2 Rivers indoor cycling classes since the early days and has been teaching now for 3 seasons. She is an avid road cyclist.
This is John's eighth season as an instructor. He has previous coaching certifications with USA Cycling and Team in Training. John has a Bachelor of Science in Sport Sciences from Ohio University. Cyclist on and off-road, runner, husband and father. He looks forward to another awesome season of teaching those aspiring to stay fit, train for an event, or just exercise in a friendly and social environment.
Mary started getting interested in recreational rides about 15 years ago, loves riding the trails and road rides, and started spin about 4 years ago. She loves the work, loves the challenge, loves that each person sets his/her own pace, and that it's great for all ages and fitness levels. Fitness should be fun, not intimidating, and feeling good is addicting.
I started practicing yoga to counter the tightness I was experiencing due to running. Little did I know how my practice would greatly influence all aspects of my life. I had the opportunity to study with Meg Galarza and completed my 200 hours of teacher training in the spring of 2014 through Yoga One Studio. Trained in vinyasa flow, I feel honored to share my enthusiasm and knowledge of yoga to our students. I aim to create a positive, welcoming, and safe environment for all. When I'm not teaching or practicing yoga, you'll probably find me on my bike, swimming, or running. In addition to all of that, I am the very lucky mom to two girls.
Ben is the general manager of 2 Rivers Bicycle and Outdoors and the hardest working man in the bike business. He has a background in Motorcycle Racing and has been cycling for 5 years. This is his second year teaching spin.He has raced the WORS mountain bike series and off-road triathlons.
Carl Matson joined 2 Rivers Bicycle and Outdoor in July 2017 and manages the Watertown store. A composite materials engineer by education, he first spent 10 years working for the Materials Engineering Division of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), where he provided engineering support to several US Navy & Marine Corps air vehicle and R&D programs. In 2005 he went to work for Trek Bicycles, spending time in manufacturing engineering, the engineering test lab, and the Advanced Concepts Group before landing in the Road department and taking on the role of lead design engineer for the Speed Concept project. Carl’s multisport racing history dates back to 1987 and includes Team USA age group qualification for ITU World Championships events in both long and short course duathlon as well as long course triathlon. He is a F.I.S.T. certified fitter and has also helped develop elements of the Trek Precision Fit training courses.
Sue Anderson started practicing yoga in her early thirties as a way to relieve and prevent chronic back pain and gradually grew to love the many ways yoga can bring together mind and body. She completed her RYT-200 teacher training with Appleton's Empower Yoga in January, 2017. Sue's classes focus on basic poses and gentle flowing sequences suitable for any level student. She loves to draw connections between the physical practice and the psychological, relieving stress and encouraging mind-body awareness. She especially enjoys teaching students new to yoga.
What to Bring?
All of our equipment is world class including our indoor bicycles and Cycleops Fluid trainers. We continously maintain our equipment to provide the best experience possible for our participants. It is recommended to bring an electrolyte drink, a towel and padded bicycle shorts (for indoor cycling classes). Instructors will reference heart rate often, so it is recommended, but not required to have a heart rate monitor. If you are taking a Sufferfest Indoor Cycling class in Watertown you will need to bring your bicycle. Storage is provided after class.
